Can AI fill out forms for you?
AI agents can now fill in online forms, sign-ups and some PDFs with your details. Here's what people report, which agents do it, and the parts you should still do yourself.
Yes, for most everyday online forms. Agents like Grok Bot, Meta Muse, Gemini Spark and ChatGPT Work can open a web form, type in details you give them or that they find in your email or files, and stop for your OK before submitting. In our feed, people have had agents fill in bank forms, an FMLA request, 7 conference registrations, an airline support ticket and people-search opt-outs. Check every field before it goes, and sign anything legal yourself.
Agents that can do this
Fills web forms in its own browser, asks for logins and card details in a Secure Form, and checks with you before it submits or pays.
Seen in our feed doing 7 conference sign-ups from one link. Free with a usage limit. US, Canada, Japan and Singapore only.
Can pull your details from Gmail and Google Drive into a form. Needs Google AI Pro or Ultra.
Has a built-in browser, and the Free plan includes limited ChatGPT Work in the desktop app.
How to do it
Gather the details once
Put your name, address, account numbers and any documents the form needs in one note or folder the agent can read.
Say what it may not do
Tell it to stop before submitting, signing, paying or sharing anything sensitive.
Give it the form
Paste the link or attach the PDF, and say who the form is for.
Check every field
Ask for a list of each field and what it put there, and look for guesses.
Submit and keep a copy
Submit it yourself or approve it, then save the confirmation email or a PDF of the finished form.
Copy this prompt
Fill out this form for me: [LINK OR ATTACHED PDF]. Use only these details: [PASTE DETAILS OR NAME THE FOLDER]. If a field asks for something I haven't given you, leave it empty and ask me. Don't guess. Before you submit, show me a list of every field and what you entered. Don't sign, pay or submit anything until I say OK, and send me the confirmation when it's done.
Our own prompt, written from the cases on this page. We haven't run it on these agents ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Agents guess when a detail is missing. Tell it to leave unknown fields empty and ask you instead.
- Never let an agent sign a legal, tax or medical form for you. Let it fill the form, then sign it yourself.
- Forms often ask for your Social Security number or bank details. Give those only on the official site, through the agent's secure prompt if it has one.
- Check the web address. Look-alike sites copy government and bank forms to collect personal details.
What real people report
- @babsNumber2 on X asked Gemini Spark to change the email on their bank accounts. The bank sent back a form, and Spark filled in two of them, one per account, with details from their Google Drive, so all that was left was to sign and send (October 16, 2026). Our write-up: Change the email on your bank accounts and let the agent fill in the forms.
- @hiThere18823351 on X handed Grok Bot an FMLA request his employer needed faxed to his surgeon. The form was 25 pages, so the bot sent him a link to a fax payment portal and he paid for that part himself (October 22, 2026). Our write-up: Grok Bot faxes an FMLA form to a surgeon for you.
- @LPDonovan on X, a teacher, gave Meta Muse one link and two screenshots and had it register him for 7 teacher conferences (October 26, 2026). Our write-up: Sign up for 7 conferences from one link.
- @NodeBaron on X had Meta Muse open a ticket in United's support portal about Wi-Fi that barely worked, and says United added $25 in travel credit within a day (October 26, 2026). Our write-up: Get money back for in-flight Wi-Fi that didn't work.
- @PaulFor97342436 on X says Grok Bot did most of the opt-out requests to remove his mother from people-search sites, plus the removal emails and Do Not Call sign-ups, in one night (October 28, 2026). Our write-up: Cut scam calls by removing a parent from people-search sites.
We haven't run these ourselves. They are the posters' own reports.
Online forms vs. PDF forms
Online forms are where agents do best. An agent with a browser types into each field the way you would, picks options from menus and moves through the pages. Grok Bot's changelog says it asks for logins and card details in a Secure Form, can show you a form with the details it already knows filled in so you can edit them, and checks your messages for approval before anything it can't undo, like sending or buying.
PDF forms are harder. A PDF with real form fields can often be filled like a web form. A scanned PDF is just a picture of paper, so the agent has to read it and then write the answers somewhere. If yours is scanned, ask the agent for a list of every question with the answer to write, and fill it in yourself. Agents that work on your own computer, like Claude Cowork, can open the file where it is, but you should still check the result before you print or send it.
Forms to keep for yourself
Some forms are fine to hand over: sign-ups, registrations, contact and support forms, address changes and opt-outs. Others need you. For tax forms, let an agent gather the numbers and draft, then check with the official instructions or a tax professional. See Gather tax documents and fill in a draft. For job applications, let it tailor your resume and pre-fill the boring parts, but write the answers that speak for you. See Tailor your resume to any job posting. Don't use an agent to answer tests, quizzes or anything that should be your own work.
A good first form to try
If phone scams are a problem in your family, registering a number on the National Do Not Call Registry is a short, free form that an agent can do with you in a few minutes. It stops sales calls from legitimate companies. Scammers ignore it, which is why the poster above also removed his mother's listings from people-search sites and turned on his carrier's scam blocking.
Questions people ask
Is there an AI that fills out forms for free?
Some agents have a free tier. Meta Muse is free with a usage limit in the countries where it's available, and ChatGPT's Free plan includes limited ChatGPT Work in the desktop app. Grok Bot, Gemini Spark and Claude Cowork need a paid plan. Check the prices on each agent's page here before you choose.
Can AI fill out PDF forms?
Often, yes, if the PDF has fillable fields. For a scanned PDF, the safest way is to have the agent list the answers for each question and fill them in yourself. Always check the finished file before you send it.
Can AI fill out tax forms?
An agent can gather your numbers and draft, but tax forms carry legal weight. Check every figure against the official instructions, and don't let an agent file or sign for you without your review.
Can AI fill out Google Forms?
An agent with a browser can fill in a Google Form like any other web form. Use it for things like sign-ups and registrations, not for quizzes or surveys meant for your own answers.
Is it safe to give an AI agent my personal details?
Give it only what the form needs, use the agent's secure prompt for passwords and card numbers when it has one, and read its privacy terms. Keep your Social Security number out of chats where you can.

Cut scam calls by removing a parent from people-search sites
The poster's mother was getting a lot of scam calls. He points out that people-search sites list a senior's name, age, phone and address for anyone to find, so he went after those listings. He says Grok Bot handled most of it in one night: the opt-out requests, the emails to sites that wanted one and the Do Not Call sign-ups. He also turned on her carrier's free scam blocking and Silence Unknown Callers, set himself up as her trusted contact at the bank and agreed a simple rule with her: never go to a bank because of a phone call. He notes that some sites refuse opt-outs in some states, such as Florida, so he emailed those asking for removal on elder-fraud safety grounds.

Sign up for 7 conferences from one link

Grok Bot faxes an FMLA form to a surgeon for you
The poster's employer asked him to fill out an FMLA request, fax the form to his surgeon's office and ask for it to be sent back. He handed the whole job to Grok Bot, and he says it got it done. The form was 25 pages, so Grok Bot sent him a link to a payment portal where he paid for the fax himself. It's the kind of paperwork chore with a lot of small steps that people put off.

Change the email on your bank accounts and let the agent fill in the forms
The poster wanted a new email address on their bank accounts, so they asked their Gemini Spark agent to write and send the request. The bank replied with a form to fill in. Spark pulled the details from the poster's Google Drive and filled in two forms, one for each account, so all that was left was to sign and send them.
