Track flight prices and get told when they drop
You know where and when you want to fly. An agent can watch prices and tell you when it's a good time to book.
We haven't tested agents on this yet. In our feed, one person had Grok Bot and Meta Muse track the same Japan trip and their prices were over $1,000 apart, because Muse searched a different booking service. Another person's first Manus flight search ran for 16 hours. Whatever agent you use, tell it which sites to check, your budget and a time limit.
Agents that can do this
How to do it
Fix the trip
Cities, dates, cabin and how many stops you'll accept.
Name the sources
Ask it to check Google Flights and the airlines' own sites, and to say which it used.
Set a target price
Give the price at which it should tell you.
Keep booking for yourself
Have it send the link and book it yourself, or approve each step.
Copy-paste setup
Track flights from [CITY] to [CITY], leaving [DATE] and coming back [DATE], in [CABIN], with at most [NUMBER] stops. Check Google Flights and the airlines' own websites, and tell me which sources you checked each time. Message me if the price drops below [PRICE].
Our own prompt. We have not tested it on every agent yet. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Different agents search different sites, so prices can differ a lot.
- Don't save your card in an agent unless you're happy for it to book.
Our test results
Not tested yet. We haven't run our own tests on this yet. When we do, results will appear here with the date, agent version, time, cost, how often we had to step in, and screenshots. How we test.
Test plan: Same itinerary tracked by each agent for one week: price found vs Google Flights, sources named, alerts sent.
Seen in the feed
A first flight search ran for 16 hours and picked a poor option
The first time the poster tried Manus, she asked it to find flights. It worked for 16 hours and came back with what she calls probably the most expensive option, with a 9-hour layover.
Two agents tracked the same Japan trip and came back $1,000 apart
The poster had Grok Bot and Muse watch the same Japan flight itinerary. Muse's price was more than $1,000 higher, and when he asked why, it said it had searched Duffel, a flight booking service, instead of Google Flights. A good reason to ask any agent where it looked.
