Get a broken laptop charger replaced without the hold time
The poster's Chromebook charger had been broken for a month and he kept putting off the replacement. Meta Muse handled the whole claim, including a phone call to the company that ran about 25 minutes, mostly on hold. During the call the rep's system froze while entering the shipping address, so Muse repeated the address and the rep finished the order. The poster says he got those 25 minutes back.
Copy this prompt
My [DEVICE] charger stopped working on [DATE]. Find out how [MAKER OR STORE] handles warranty replacements for chargers, using their official support pages. Then contact them and ask for a replacement, giving my order or serial number [NUMBER] and shipping address [ADDRESS]. Don't pay for anything or buy an extended warranty without asking me. Afterwards, send me the claim or order number and what they promised.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Check the address and claim number in the summary. Muse had to repeat the address when the rep's system froze, and errors like that are easy to miss.
- Have the serial number and proof of purchase ready. Most warranty claims ask for them.
