Phone and internet bills read, one message, a cheaper deal
His Grok Bot read his phone company bills: one home internet line and two mobile plans. From that it wrote a single message to the provider, which he sent himself. The company called him back. In the end the switching fee was waived, a Disney+ add-on he had forgotten about was removed, and both mobile plans got cheaper, plus a 15% loyalty discount. He puts the total at about EUR 469 a year, around $523, and says he never negotiated, he just said yes to the offer. He is in Europe, so the plans and the numbers are local, but the method works anywhere: let the agent read the actual bills, find extras you don't use, and ask the provider for its current deals before you think about switching.
Poster's claim, not verified: He says it saves him about EUR 469 (about $523) a year. We haven't verified it.
Copy this prompt
Read my last three phone and internet bills [ATTACH]. List every line, plan, add-on and fee with what I pay each month, and flag anything I may not use. Then check the provider's current prices for similar plans. Draft one short, polite message to the provider asking them to remove the extras, move me to a cheaper plan and tell me about any loyalty discount. Don't send it. Show me the draft and your estimate of the yearly savings first.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Ask about contract terms before you accept: a cheaper plan can come with a new lock-in period.
- Check the next bill to make sure the removed add-ons and the new price actually show up.
