Grok Bot called Comcast and cut his internet bill
Peter Yang asked Grok Bot to phone Comcast about his internet plan. He was paying $84 a month. Before the call, the bot looked up a rival offer in his area, a $49 intro price for fiber from Sonic, and used it as leverage. On the call it turned down three upsells and came back with a lower price and a faster plan, which he says works out to almost $500 a year. He posted a short clip of the call, including the moment the rep asked about the weather and the bot answered that it doesn't have eyes on the sky. He also says every Grok Bot user in the US should now be able to have it call businesses. The useful pattern: give the agent your current price and a real competing offer, and tell it which extras to refuse.
Poster's claim, not verified: He says the new plan saves almost $500 a year. That's his account of one call, not a promise of what you'll get.
Copy this prompt
Call [PROVIDER] about my internet plan. I pay [CURRENT PRICE] a month for [SPEED]. First, look up real offers from other providers at my address [ADDRESS] and pick the best one to mention. On the call, ask for a lower price or a faster plan at the same price. Say no to add-ons like TV, phone lines or equipment upgrades. Don't agree to a contract longer than 12 months. Before you accept anything, tell me the new monthly price, how long it lasts, and what it becomes after.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Intro prices often end after 12 months. Ask the agent to get the price after the promo, not just the first-year number.
- Only use a competing offer that is real at your address. The rep may check, and a made-up offer can end the call badly.
- Ask for a written confirmation or a chat transcript, then check your next bill matches what was agreed.

Lower a bill with an AI agent
Your internet, phone or insurance price crept up. An agent can read the bill, compare offers and ask your provider for a better price, with you approving each step.
