Claude Cowork filled his Mac's disk and scheduled tasks stopped
He's on a top Claude plan and uses Cowork on his Mac. He says since October 31 the Cowork desktop setup has shown its disk at 100% full. Restarting the app and closing sessions didn't fix it, his scheduled tasks kept failing, and a support ticket had gone four days without a reply when he posted. Agents that work with files on your computer keep copies, logs and session data, and that can fill a disk over time. If your scheduled tasks start failing for no clear reason, check free disk space first, and keep a note of what each task does so you can rerun it by hand while you wait for support.
The lesson: When an agent's scheduled tasks start failing, check disk space first, and have a manual backup plan for anything important.
Copy this prompt
My scheduled tasks in [AGENT] keep failing. Before we change anything, help me check: how much free disk space my computer has, which folders the agent uses for its files and logs, and how big they are. List what's safe to clear and what I should keep, and don't delete anything until I say yes.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Don't delete an agent's folders by guesswork. You can lose saved sessions or settings.
- If support is slow, keep running important tasks by hand until it's fixed.
