A home-run agent that handles appointments, returns and quotes
The poster set up OpenClaw on a small Raspberry Pi computer at home, with a second device running a helper model. In a couple of weeks, they say, it has handled doctor and dentist appointments, dinner reservations, PDFs of charges for reimbursement, calendar invites, Amazon returns and shopping, budgeting, contractor quotes and birthday cards. This takes more setup than an app, but everything runs on their own hardware.
Copy this prompt
This week, help me with three errands. 1) Find the next open appointment with [DOCTOR OR DENTIST] that fits my calendar and ask me before booking. 2) Start a return for [ITEM] from my Amazon order on [DATE] and tell me the drop-off options. 3) Ask [2 or 3] local [TYPE OF CONTRACTOR] for quotes for [JOB], and put the replies in one short comparison. Check with me before sending any message.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- An agent on your own hardware still uses your accounts. Give it its own email and calendar access where you can, and keep payments behind your approval.
- Running it at home means you handle updates and backups yourself.

Find an earlier appointment
Your DMV, doctor or passport appointment is months away. An agent can keep checking for cancellations and grab an earlier slot.
