Muse applied fast; Duet stalled without passwords

Sid compared two agents on the same job-search work. He says Meta Muse sent about 148 applications in 22 days, while Claude Duet sent 1 in 10 hours. His read of the gap: Duet stores no passwords, so it cannot finish sites that need a login. That is a real tradeoff, not a scoreboard. Mass auto-apply can also break site rules and send weak applications. If you use an agent for job search, keep passwords in a vault you control, review each application before it goes out, and treat volume as a warning sign, not a goal.

The lesson: An agent that cannot store passwords will stall on login-walled job sites, and high auto-apply counts are not the same as good applications.

Copy this prompt

Help me apply to jobs without spraying the same resume everywhere. For each role I paste, score how well my experience fits, draft a tailored resume and a short cover note from my experience library only, and stop before submitting. Never invent employers, dates or skills. Do not store my passwords. When a site needs a login, pause and let me sign in.

Watch out for

  • LinkedIn and many boards restrict automated applying. High send counts can get accounts limited.
  • Never let an agent invent work history. Keep one experience library it must quote from.
  • Prefer draft-and-review over fully automatic submit, even when the agent can log in.
