Have an agent call the hospital about a bill on hold
The poster had a hospital bill that was supposed to be on hold while it was reviewed, but he got a bill anyway. He sent his Meta Muse agent to call the hospital. He says it got through the phone menu, confirmed his account and found out there was no hold on it after all.
Copy this prompt
Call the billing office at [HOSPITAL] at [PHONE NUMBER] about account [ACCOUNT NUMBER] in my name, [NAME]. Ask whether the account is on hold for review, since I was told it would be. If it isn't, ask them to put it on hold while the review is open, and ask for the name of the person you spoke to and a reference number. Don't agree to pay anything or set up a payment plan. Tell me exactly what they said.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Meta Muse phone calls are a US beta. 404 Media reported that some of these calls are placed by people in a call center, so assume a person may hear your details.
- Get any hold confirmed in writing too. A phone confirmation is hard to prove later.
- Decide in advance what the agent may share. It may need your date of birth to confirm the account, but never your full Social Security number.
- A hold usually doesn't stop interest or late fees unless the office says so. Ask.

Check and dispute a medical bill with an AI agent
Medical bills and insurance statements are long and full of codes. An agent can line them up, flag charges that look wrong and draft the dispute or appeal, while you check the math and approve what gets sent.
