A missing hotel night caught and booked with points
The poster gets a daily briefing from his Grok Bot. One morning it told him his coming vacation was one hotel night short. A second bot linked to his Hilton account then booked a rewards night to fill the gap. In the same briefing he got an update on missing homework from his kids' school accounts, and he had a bot start the robot vacuum at home. Gaps between bookings are easy to miss when flights and hotels are booked at different times, and they tend to show up only at the front desk. A quick check of every night in the trip against the bookings catches them early.
Copy this prompt
Look through my email for every booking for my trip to [DESTINATION] from [DATE] to [DATE]: flights, hotels, rental cars and tickets. Make a night-by-night list and flag any night without a place to stay, any overlap and any check-in that doesn't match a flight arrival. If a night is missing, show me options, including a points booking with [HOTEL PROGRAM], and wait for my OK before you book.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Points bookings can have different cancellation rules than paid ones. Check them before you confirm.
- Look for time zones and overnight flights. Arriving after midnight can mean you need the night before.
