Grok Bot spots a €270 overpayment while sorting tax papers
The poster, who lives in Spain, bought a flat in Valencia in 2024. The agency fee was agreed at €8,470 including VAT. Two years later he asked Grok Bot to organize the paperwork for his tax return. It went through his old WhatsApp chats with the agent, the signed fee sheet and his bank transfers, and lined them up side by side. The agent had confirmed €8,470 in writing, but he had sent €8,740, because two digits were swapped. Nobody had noticed. Grok Bot then looked up the agency's company details, found the agent's number in his chats and drafted a polite refund request in Spanish for him to send himself. He says he likes that it never sends anything on its own: it does the digging and he decides.
Poster's claim, not verified: He says he overpaid the agency by €270 and drafted a refund request. We have not verified this, or whether he got the money back.
Copy this prompt
I'm getting my papers ready for my tax return. Here are my bank transfers [ATTACH], the receipts or fee agreements for big payments this year and last [ATTACH], and any messages where a price was agreed [ATTACH OR PASTE]. Line up each agreed amount next to what I actually paid and flag any payment that doesn't match, with the dates and the documents that show it. For each mismatch, draft a short, polite message asking for a refund that I can send myself. Don't send or contact anyone.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Check the numbers against the original documents before asking for money back. A mismatch can have a reason, like a later agreed change.
- Old chats and bank exports hold personal details. Share only the documents the job needs.

Gather tax documents and fill in a draft
Tax season means hunting through email and bank accounts. An agent can collect the documents and draft the forms for you to review.
