Grok Bot paid a medical bill from a photo of the statement
Same poster. They photographed a medical bill that included the payment website, and asked Grok Bot to handle it. The bot signed in, paid with their HSA card, and finished without them wrestling the billing portal. Paying from a photo is convenient, and easy to get wrong: the wrong patient account, an old balance, or a card you did not mean to use. Keep final payment approval with you, and save the confirmation number.
Copy this prompt
Here is a photo of my medical bill: [PHOTO]. Open only the official payment site printed on it. Show me the patient name, account number, amount due and due date before you pay. Pay exactly [AMOUNT] with [HSA / CARD LABEL] and stop. Do not set up autopay. Save the confirmation number and a screenshot of the paid receipt.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Check the patient name and amount before you approve payment. Old statements and family accounts mix easily.
- Prefer an HSA or FSA card only when the bill is clearly eligible. Ask your plan if you are unsure.
- Do not store the billing-site password in a chat if the agent offers a secure form.

Check and dispute a medical bill with an AI agent
Medical bills and insurance statements are long and full of codes. An agent can line them up, flag charges that look wrong and draft the dispute or appeal, while you check the math and approve what gets sent.
