Lesson

Cowork asks before each new website

A Claude Cowork user set it to research blog posts and had to approve each new site it wanted to read, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic and The Washington Post. That stopped him from leaving it running in the background. Commenters suggest an allowed-sites list or an auto mode, which we haven't confirmed for Cowork.

The lesson: Approve your list of sites at the start so a long research job doesn't stall.

Copy this prompt

I want to research [TOPIC] for a blog post. Before you start, list every website you plan to read so I can approve them all at once. Only use those sites. If you need another one, collect the requests and ask me once at the end.

Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.

Watch out for

  • Each approval lets the agent read that site. Only approve sites you'd visit yourself.
