Get a short news digest in Notion each morning

The poster has Meta Muse do his industry research every weekday at 7am. It looks only at the last 24 hours, picks the 3 most useful items and saves each one in Notion with a summary and an idea for what to post about it. Muse built the Notion database too. He connected Notion on a paid Notion plan and says the free plan gave him trouble.

Every weekday at 7am, find news from the last 24 hours about [MY INDUSTRY OR TOPIC]. Pick the 3 most useful items for someone who [WHAT I DO]. Save each one in my Notion database '[DATABASE NAME]' with the headline, the link, a 3-line summary and one idea for how I could use it. Skip anything you can't link to.

Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.

Watch out for

  • Open the links before you share anything. Summaries can get details wrong.
  • The poster says the Notion connection gave him trouble on Notion's free plan.

Cut a phone bill from $40 to $20

In a list of things he uses Meta Muse for, the poster says it lowered his AT&T bill from $40 to $20 a month. He doesn't say how, but the usual routes are a cheaper current plan, a loyalty or retention offer, or dropping add-ons you don't use. On the same list, Muse scheduled a tire appointment, found cheaper tires, booked a flight to Orlando and sends him follow-up reminders. A bill cut is one of the simplest agent jobs to check: you either see the lower amount on the next statement or you don't.

PromptHere is my latest [PHONE COMPANY] bill. List what I pay for each line and add-on. Compare it with the plans...

Dots says your Mac is ready, then can't use it

The poster spent a day testing ChatGPT Dots on his own Mac. Cloud work went well, but local tasks got shaky. The Mac showed as connected, yet tasks failed with 'No usable execution environment' until he started a fresh thread. Files worked, but launching a command-line tool hit 'Operation not permitted'. 1Password was set up, but the task never triggered it, so he waited for a prompt that never came. He says this was one setup and may not apply to everyone.

PromptBefore you start this task on my Mac, check what you can actually do: open a file in [FOLDER], run [APP OR...

Cowork can't reach your laptop files when it's closed

The poster points to Anthropic's help page: since new Claude Cowork tasks run in the cloud, they keep going after you close the Claude desktop app, but they can only read your connected local folders while that app is open on your computer. So a weekly report that depends on a spreadsheet on your laptop won't see it if the laptop is shut. His tip is to list where each input lives before you hand a job over, and to give a cloud copy for jobs that must run without your computer, noting that a copy goes out of date.

PromptBefore you start, list every file and app this task needs and where each one lives: my computer, the cloud or...
