Real use case

Claude Cowork cuts 20 clips from a folder into a teaser

The poster, an accountant, shared a tip for editing video with Claude Cowork: don't upload big video files. Give Cowork access to the folder where they're stored and say clearly what you want. He gave it about 20 clips and asked for a teaser, and says he was impressed with the result. He also says he had set up a few of his own Claude skills first, one with his branding guidelines and one acting as a video editing director, which helped.

Copy this prompt

In the folder [FOLDER NAME] there are about [20] video clips from [EVENT OR PROJECT]. Watch through them and put together a [30]-second teaser: pick the best moments, keep the order that tells the story, and add simple title cards with [TEXT]. Follow my brand colors and fonts [DETAILS OR FILE]. Save the teaser and a list of which clips and timestamps you used in a new folder, and don't change or delete the original files.

Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.

Watch out for

  • Give access to one folder, not your whole drive.
  • Keep a copy of your original clips somewhere the agent can't edit.
