Asked to cancel one plan, Muse went for another
He asked Meta Muse three times to cancel his Muse Coding plan, and each time it tried to cancel his Claude Code subscription instead. Both are paid coding plans, so the agent mixed them up. Nothing in his post says the wrong plan was actually cancelled, but it's a clear reminder that a cancel request is only as good as how precisely you name the thing. Give the exact product, the company that bills you, the amount and the account email, and have the agent show you what it's about to cancel before it presses the button. If it's Muse itself you want to cancel, Meta's help page says you can cancel your Muse subscription at any time.
The lesson: Name the exact plan, company and amount, and make the agent show you what it's about to cancel before it acts.
Copy this prompt
I want to cancel exactly one subscription: [PRODUCT NAME] from [COMPANY], billed [AMOUNT] to [CARD ENDING ####] under [ACCOUNT EMAIL]. Before you do anything, show me the account page and the plan you found, with its name and price, and wait for my yes. Don't touch any other subscription, even if it looks similar.
Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
Watch out for
- Similar plan names get mixed up. Give the company and the amount, not just the product name.
- Check the confirmation email to make sure the right plan was cancelled.
