Lesson

Asked to check websites one by one, the agent started writing a script instead

The poster gave Claude Cowork a list of websites and written instructions that said to check each site individually. They say it began planning a script to process them all at once instead. Only after they told it again to use the browser and go through the sites one at a time did it do the job the way they asked.

The lesson: If the method matters, say it plainly and ask the agent to repeat its plan back before it starts.

Copy-paste setup

Open each website on this list in the browser, one at a time: [LIST]. Do not write a script or batch them. For each site, check [WHAT TO CHECK] and write one line with what you found. Before you start, repeat back how you plan to do it in one sentence and wait for my OK.

Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.
