Real use case

ChatGPT Work rebuilt his old WordPress site

Jimmy used ChatGPT Work to take over an old WordPress site and update it in minutes. He does not code and does not know many WordPress themes. He found a site he liked, told ChatGPT that was the inspiration, and says he had a whole new site shortly after. Treat that as a draft-and-review job: keep backups, do not hand over hosting passwords you cannot revoke, and check the live pages yourself before you point your domain at anything new.

Copy this prompt

Help me refresh my WordPress site at [URL]. I like the look of [INSPIRATION URL]. Propose a simple page structure and copy changes in plain English first. Then make the edits in [STAGING OR LOCAL] only. Do not change DNS, delete posts, or install paid plugins without asking. When you finish, give me a checklist of pages to review on desktop and phone.

Our own prompt, written from what the source describes. We haven't run it ourselves. Text in [BRACKETS] is what you replace.

Watch out for

  • Take a full backup before any redesign. WordPress changes are hard to undo without one.
  • Use a staging site when you can. Do not experiment on the live homepage first.
  • Keep payment and admin passwords for yourself unless you can revoke access later.
